Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say thou: it hath been revealed unto me that a company of the jinn listened, and said, verily we have listened to a Recitation wondrous. 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 we used to take up a position to listen, but whoever listens now finds a flaming fire lying in wait for him -- 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. 11 'And we think that we cannot escape (from the punishment of) Allah in the earth, nor can we escape (from the punishment) by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; 14 However, the deviators from the Truth will be the fuel for hell". 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 And [know] that all worship is due to God [alone]: hence, do not invoke anyone side by side with God! 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
