The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and deliver thy warning! 2 And your Lord glorify 3 And your garments do purify, 4 shun uncleanness; 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 For when the Trump is sounded 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave to Me the one, whom I have created all by Myself, 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 (Self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 Then he looked round; 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
