The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
