Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the late morning, 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world). 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
