The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
