The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
