Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 So they plotted a plot against him, but We made them the lowest. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
