The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
