A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 so that they may eat its fruit, though it was not their hands that made this. Will they not then be grateful? 35 Hallowed be He who hath created all the pairs of that which the earth groweth, and of themselves and of that which they know not! 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk. 39 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 And if We please, We can drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor shall they be rescued 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). 45 And there comes not to them a communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it. 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 Further, they say, "When will this promise (come to pass), if what ye say is true?" 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 then they will not be able to make any testament, nor will they return to their people. 50
