The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
