The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 The people of the fuelled blazing fire. 5 They sat by it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
