Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm. 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
