Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 separating one from another, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 Till an appointed term, 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 nor will they be permitted to offer any excuses. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
