At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
