And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 Do not betray me 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 'By Allah, we were certainly in clear error, 97 When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
