Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
