Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
