111 verses, revealed in Mecca after Hood (Hood) before The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif Lam Ra. These are the verses of the Book that makes (things) manifest. 1 We have sent it down as an Arabic Koran; haply you will understand. 2 We relate to you, [O Muhammad], the best of stories in what We have revealed to you of this Qur'an although you were, before it, among the unaware. 3 When Joseph said unto his father: O my father! Lo! I saw in a dream eleven planets and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating themselves unto me. 4 He said, “O my child! Do not relate your dream to your brothers, for they will hatch a plot against you; indeed Satan is an open enemy towards mankind.” 5 Thus thy Lord will prefer thee and will teach thee the interpretation of events, and will perfect His grace upon thee and upon the family of Jacob as He perfected it upon thy forefathers, Abraham and Isaac. Lo! thy Lord is Knower, Wise. 6
