The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain. 1 And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic." 2 They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision 3 And assuredly there hath come unto them tidings wherein is a deterrent. 4 Effective wisdom; but warnings avail not. 5 So turn (your) back on them (for) the day when the inviter shall invite them to a hard task, 6 Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading, 7 Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ The people of Noah, who lived before them, had also rejected (Our guidance). They rejected Our servant and said, "He is an insane person so let us drive him away". 9 Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do Thou then help (me)!" 10 So We opened the gates of the cloud with water pouring 11 and caused the earth to burst forth with springs, so that the waters met for a purpose pre-ordained: 12 And We carried him upon a thing of planks and nails, 13 floated on under Our eyes: a vindication of him who had been rejected. 14 And We left it for a sign. Is there any that will remember? 15 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 16 And We have indeed made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 17 TO THE TRUTH gave the lie [the tribe of] Ad: and how severe was the suffering which I inflicted when My warnings were disregarded! 18 Behold, We let loose upon them a raging storm wind on a day of bitter misfortune: 19 Carrying men away as though they were trunks of palm-trees uprooted. 20 How (great) was then My punishment and My warning! 21 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished! 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
