And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 O that we might return again, and be among the believers!' 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
