Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Hast thou not seen how they stray in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
