Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Say thou: it hath been revealed unto me that a company of the jinn listened, and said, verily we have listened to a Recitation wondrous. 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 and that “they thought, even as you thought, that Allah would never raise anyone (as a Messenger)”; 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 and that “we thought that we will neither be able to frustrate Allah on earth, nor frustrate Him by flight”; 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision 16 ‘In order to test them with it; and whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord – He will put him in a punishment that keeps on increasing.’ 17 The places of worship belong to God; so call not, along with God, upon anyone. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
