Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 We verily, have made it a Quran in Arabic, that you may be able to understand (its meanings and its admonitions). 3 And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you, for that you are a prodigal people? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 We destroyed the strongest among them in power. The stories of the ancient people have already been mentioned. 8 If you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?", they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All Knowing One has created them." 9 (It is) He who made the earth to be a cradle for you and made in it ways for you, in order that you are guided. 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 And lo! unto our Lord we surely are returning. 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
