In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
