The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the morning brightness 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 and do not chide the one who asks for help; 10 and proclaim the bounties of your Lord. 11
