At the same time, the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was disease were saying, "Their faith has deluded these [believers]!" But he who places his trust in God [knows that,] verily, God is almighty, wise. 49 If you could see the angels when they carry off the souls of the unbelievers, beating their faces and their backs, saying: 'Taste the punishment of Burning! 50 That is for what your hands have forwarded, Allah is not unjust to His worshipers' 51 The same thing happened to the people of Pharaoh and those who lived before them. They rejected the revelations of God and, because of their sins, His retribution struck them. God is All-powerful and stern in His retribution. 52 This is because Allah would never change His favor that He bestowed upon a nation until they change what is in their hearts. Allah is Hearing, Knowing. 53 This was the case with the people of Pharaoh and those before them, who rejected the signs of their Lord and were destroyed for their sins, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh as they were oppressors. 54 Surely the worst of beasts in God's sight are the unbelievers, who will not believe, 55 The ones with whom you made a treaty but then they break their pledge every time, and they do not fear Allah. 56 if you meet them in battle, cause their example to scatter those behind them so that they remember. 57 If you [have reason to] fear from a people betrayal, throw [their treaty] back to them, [putting you] on equal terms. Indeed, Allah does not like traitors. 58
