And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are not aware, 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 And We did not destroy any town but it had (its) warners, 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 And how they say that which they do not? 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
