Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
