The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
