Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 while you make merry? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
