The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise, and warn! 2 proclaim the greatness of your Lord, 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 and to whom I have granted resources in abundance, 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he thought; 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 [Hence,] I shall cause him to endure hell-fire [in the life to come]! 26 And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 Scorching the skin. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
