The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 save boiling water and wash of the wounds; 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
