The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
