The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
READ IN THE name of your Lord who created, 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Hast thou considered whether he is on the right way, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
Almighty Allah's Truth.
