Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
