Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 Recall what time he ran away unto a laden ship. 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And surely they used to say: 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
