Noah had called upon Us (earlier). See, how excellent We were in answering him! 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the nations. 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
