Hizb 46

Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 Glorified is Allah! (He is Free) from what they attribute unto Him! 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 So you and your deities 161 can cause anyone to fall prey to your temptation 162 Except the one who will go into the blazing fire. 163 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. 164 we are the rangers, 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 What though they would say, 167 "If only we had had before us a Message from those of old, 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
