Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead. 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
