۞ To Abraham We gave the right guidance and We knew him very well. 51 When he said to his father and his people: What are these images to whose worship you cleave? 52 They said, “We found our forefathers worshipping them.” 53 He said: Verily ye and your fathers were in plain error. 54 They said: Have you brought to us the truth, or are you one of the triflers? 55 He said, "Nay, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, He Who created them (from nothing): and I am a witness to this (Truth). 56 By Allah, I shall certainly carry out my plan against your gods after you are gone." 57 Then he made them fragments, all except the big one of them, that haply unto it they may return. 58 They said: Who has done this to our gods? Most surely he is one of the unjust. 59 They said: We heard a youth speak of them, who is called Ibrahim. 60 Said they: Then bring him before the eyes of the people, perhaps they may bear witness. 61 They said, "Art thou the one that did this with our gods, O Abraham?" 62 He replied, "I think the biggest among them has broken the smaller ones. Ask them if they are able to speak". 63 So they turned towards their own selves and (inwardly) said, “Indeed you yourselves are unjust.” 64 Thereafter they were made to turn over upon their heads, saying, assuredly thou knowest that they speak not. 65 He said: What! do you then serve besides Allah what brings you not any benefit at all, nor does it harm you? 66 "Fie upon you, and upon the things that ye worship besides Allah! Have ye no sense?".. 67 They said, "Burn him to ashes if you want to help your gods". 68 We said: O fire! be a comfort and peace to Ibrahim; 69 They had sought to do him harm, but We frustrated them. 70 We took Abraham and Lot safely to the land in which We had sent blessings to the worlds. 71 And We gave him Ishaq and Yaqoub, a son's son, and We made (them) all good. 72 And We made them leaders, guiding (mankind) by Our Command, and We inspired in them the doing of good deeds, performing Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and the giving of Zakat and of Us (Alone) they were worshippers. 73 And Lot -- to him We gave judgment and knowledge; and we delivered him from the city that had been doing deeds of corruption; they were an evil people, truly ungodly; 74 We admitted him to Our Mercy, he was among the righteous. 75
