Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 “You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
