Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
