The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel: 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! 22
