[AND] the people of Lot gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
