The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 so that they become as scattered dust 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 on lavish couches 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and continuous shade, 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruit in abundance. 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And have made them virgins. 36 full of love, well-matched 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
