Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
