The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created of spurting water 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and so am I: 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
