۞ God says, "Do not worship two gods. There is only One God. Have fear of Me". 51 To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and on the earth, and obedience is due to Him alone. Will you then fear anyone other than God? 52 And whatever of comfort ye enjoy, it is from Allah. Then, when misfortune reacheth you, unto Him ye cry for help. 53 And afterward, when He hath rid you of the misfortune, behold! a set of you attribute partners to their Lord, 54 That they may show ingratitude for that which We have vouchsafed unto them. Enjoy then, presently ye shall know. 55 They set aside a portion of the food We have given them for those they do not know. By God, you will surely have to answer for all you contrive! 56 They ascribe daughters to Allah exaltations to Him! But they themselves would have what they desire! 57 Yet when news of the birth of a daughter reaches one of them, his face is darkened, and he is overwhelmed with silent grief, 58 avoiding all people because of the [alleged] evil of the glad tiding which he has received, [and debating within himself:] Shall he keep this [child] despite the contempt [which he feels for it] - or shall he bury it in the dust? Old, evil indeed is whatever they decide! 59 The attribute of evil applies to those who do not believe in the Hereafter, while to God applies the highest attribute, for He is Mighty, the Wise. 60
