The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And accepts the best, 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
