The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 Indeed, they were not expecting an account 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
